Templates Deep Dive
Templates help you keep a consistent look and feel across the assets you create for every stage of a deal. You can build templates from scratch, save existing assets as templates, or spin one up from a blueprint.
Opening Templates
In the left sidebar, open the Assets dropdown and select Templates.
Organized by deal stage
The Templates page is organized by deal stage. Columns run left to right across the page, one per stage, so you can see at a glance what templates are available for prospecting, discovery, demo, closing, kickoff, and beyond.
Templates can be dragged and dropped between stages. If a template fits a different point in the deal than where it was created, grab it and drop it in the right column.
Suggested blueprints for empty stages
If a stage has no templates yet, Mutiny surfaces suggested blueprints inside that column. Use a blueprint to spin up a template without starting from scratch.
Common template types
Teams typically build templates for the assets they create over and over:
- Deal rooms for opportunities in flight.
- Kickoff decks for new customer or project kickoffs.
- Industry landing pages, for example a tech company landing page.
- Event invite templates for field and marketing events.
Creating a template
Click + Create template in the top right. A new thread opens where you work with the agent to build the template.
Once created, you can keep refining with the agent or make changes manually in the editor. When the template is in a good spot, use the Share button in the top right to preview how it will look as a published asset and to adjust sharing and access.
Converting an existing asset into a template
Open the asset in the editor, click the three-dot menu, and select Save as template. The template is immediately available in the Templates tab for future assets.
Managing templates
Archiving and deleting
If you no longer need a template, archive or delete it from the three-dot menu on the template card.
Switch between Active and Archived views with the dropdown in the top right:
- Active shows templates available during asset creation.
- Archived stores templates you’ve archived to reduce clutter while keeping them recoverable.
Deleted templates cannot be recovered.
Sharing templates
Open the three-dot menu on a template and select Share. This opens a modal where you can set sharing settings for your team.
Powering templates with Skills
Templates handle the design; Skills handle the instructions the agent follows when a template gets used. Pair the two to turn a static template into a repeatable, personalized workflow.
For example, you can build a Skill that runs whenever a user creates a deal room. The Skill can prompt the user for the specific context it needs (prospect name, champion, deal stage, next meeting date), then use those answers to pull the right logos, headshots, and case studies from your Library and drop them into the right sections of the template.
Common ways teams use Skills to power templates:
- Ask for context up front. Have the Skill prompt the user for the account, contact, or product line the template is being built for.
- Pull the right references. Instruct the agent to grab specific Library resources (case studies, headshots, pricing docs) based on the answers.
- Enforce tone and structure. Lock the voice, layout, or section rules so every asset built from the template stays on brand.
