Automation Overview

Automation is Mutiny’s engine for taking repeatable work off your plate. Think daily meeting prep, follow-ups after every call, email replies, and account check-ins. Automation runs these for you so you can stay focused on the work that only you can do.

Finding Automation

Open the Assistant dropdown in the left sidebar and select Automation.

Account routines

A set of pre-baked automations ship on by default when you create your account. You’ll find them at the top of the Automation page under Account routines:

  • Meeting prep so you walk into every call ready.
  • Follow-ups so recaps and next steps go out while the meeting is still fresh.
  • Email replies so routine responses get drafted in your voice.
  • Check-ins so no account goes cold.

These are the automations that typically take an hour of prep and follow-up work and cut it down to five or ten minutes.

Creating a custom automation

To build your own, click + New automation in the top right. This opens a thread where you work with the agent to describe what the automation should do. The agent builds it based on your instructions.

Custom automations appear under Your automations on the same page.

Before creating an automation that uses an integration, make sure the integration is connected. Open Integrations in the left nav to review your connections. Learn more: Managing your Integrations.

Managing an automation

From the Automation page, you can edit an automation, delete it, run it manually to confirm it works as expected, or share it with teammates.

Each automation card has quick actions along the top:

  • Set tool usage privileges
  • Edit with the agent
  • Delete the automation
  • Share it with your team

Editing instructions

Each automation card has an expandable text box with the instructions the agent follows. You can edit them directly, or open a thread and ask the agent to update them for you.

Run logs

Below the instructions is a log of every run the automation has completed. Use it to confirm the automation is doing what you expect and to review past activity.

Notifications

When an automation finishes or runs into an issue, Mutiny posts an update to your notifications center. Click the bell icon at the top of the left sidebar to see them.
