Content Blocks are the building blocks of your microsites in the Campaigns product. When you create a new microsite, the editor automatically matches sections of your provided URL to the appropriate content blocks. You can then customize these blocks, add new ones, or rearrange them to create your ideal page without requiring extensive design or development knowledge.

What Are Content Blocks?

Content Blocks are pre-designed, customizable sections that you can add to your microsite. Each block serves a specific purpose and includes customizable elements and styling options. Using these blocks allows you to:

  • Create professional, on-brand base pages quickly
  • Maintain design consistency across your campaigns
  • Focus on your content rather than design and layout
  • Easily update and modify your campaigns as needed

When you create a new microsite, the editor automatically analyzes your provided URL and matches sections of your website to appropriate content blocks. You can then customize these blocks, add new ones, or rearrange them to create your ideal campaign page.

Available Content Block Types

Campaigns offers ten different Content Block types:

Common Elements Across Content Blocks

Most Content Blocks share common customization options and elements:

Elements

Elements are the editable areas within each block where you can add and customize your content. Common elements include:

  • Headers and subheaders
  • Descriptive text
  • Images
  • Call-to-action buttons

Layout & Styling Options

Each block offers various layout and styling options to help you create the exact look and feel you want:

  • Background color selection
  • Layout variations (where applicable)
  • Toggle options for various elements
  • Spacing controls

Default Settings

All blocks come with sensible defaults that align with your campaign theme, making it easy to create professional-looking content quickly. Some elements may be picked up by the content scraping, and placeholders will be used where they were not.

For each block, you'll:

  1. Configure the block settings
  2. Customize the content in available elements
  3. Preview how the block will appear on different devices
  4. Make any necessary adjustments before publishing

Refer to the individual block documentation for detailed information on each block's specific elements and customization options.

Best Practices for Using Content Blocks

  • Maintain consistency: Use similar styling options across blocks for a cohesive look
  • Don't overcrowd: Focus on key messages rather than trying to fit too much content into a single block
  • Consider the user journey: Arrange blocks in a logical order that guides users through your campaign narrative
  • Use imagery strategically: Select high-quality images that enhance your message
  • Test on multiple devices: Ensure your campaign looks great on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices

By following these guidelines and utilizing the flexibility of Content Blocks, you can create effective, engaging microsites that drive results.
