Visited URL vs Experience URL Conditions

A common mistake customers make is mixing up "Visited URL" targeting in your segment definition, and setting the URL conditions on which your experience will display. This guide will clarify when to use each.

Visited URL

"Visited URL" is a behavioral attribute that lets you build a segment for visitors who have viewed certain pages on your site.

For example, maybe you want to target all visitors who have viewed your pricing page, and then change your CTA on the homepage when they return.

Or, maybe you want to build a segment for any visitor who has looked at your top eBook and highlight an upcoming webinar on the same topic.

Experience URL Conditions

When you create an experience, you have the option to show the experience on one page or across multiple pages. These URL conditions determine the pages on which the experience will show up, for visitors who match the segment definition.

For example, if you want to change the headline on your pricing page, your experience URL should be "yoururl.com/pricing".

If you want to your experience to run on all your blog pages, your experience URL should be "yoururl.com/blog" with added conditions for URL contains "blog", like the screenshot below.
