If you already have conversion events for your website set up in Google Tag Manager, you can use Mutiny's custom Javascript to send those events to Mutiny.
Note: This article documents the process of tracking conversions using Google Tag Manager. If you’re trying to track Mutiny experience impressions using Google Tag Manager, take a look at this article instead.
Accessing your event code
First, you'll need to copy the event code from Mutiny. Head over to this article to access your event code, and then come back here for instructions on adding it to Google Tag Manager
Adding your script to Google Tag Manager
Once you've copied the code, you'll want to paste it into Google Tag Manager.
- Log in to your Google Tag Manager account and click "Add a new tag".
- Under "Tag configuration", choose "Custom HTML".
- Paste the script copied from within Mutiny's app into the HTML box. Remember, you can change the name ('demo-form' in the image below) to a name-value that would help you identify this particular conversion event in Mutiny.
- Now we'll set up the trigger which will invoke Mutiny's script you just pasted in the HTML box. Say you already have a trigger for when someone signs up for a demo on your website, choose that trigger under "Triggering". If your trigger is not created yet, you can set one up by following the instructions here.
- After both the tag and trigger are configured, hit "Save" at the top right to save this tag. You should make sure that your tag and trigger work correctly by "Previewing" your workspace. Learn more about previewing your changes here.
- Once you've verified it works correctly, publish your workspace by clicking "Submit".
