How to Configure Your Campaign Settings

1. Custom Domain Setup

All Mutiny campaigns run on a subdomain of your choice, ensuring a seamless brand experience.

How to set it up:

  • Access the Custom Domain section.
  • Follow the DNS setup guide to configure your subdomain.
  • Choose a subdomain that aligns with your branding (e.g., abm.yourcompany.com).

2. Visual and Branding Settings

Favicon Image

  • Favicons are images displayed on tabs at the top of a web browser

Default Theme

  • Set your primary brand theme so all new campaigns automatically inherit your branding (colors, fonts, styles).
  • You can create multiple themes for different campaigns or regions.

Page Title and Description

  • Page Title: Sets the text displayed on the browser tab.
  • Page Description: Appears in search engine previews and browser tooltips.

Tip: Keep your description clear and concise to improve user experience.

3. Additional Content: Code Snippets and Scripts

Head HTML

Place any code that should load before the page renders, including:

  • Google Tag Manager
  • Analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Consent management scripts

Body HTML

Use this section for scripts that load after the page has rendered, such as:

  • Chat widgets (e.g., Drift, Intercom)
  • Heatmaps (e.g., Hotjar, Crazy Egg)
  • Pop-up tools

Pro Tip: Only load essential scripts in the Head section to ensure fast page load times.

4. Cookie Consent and Privacy Settings

Cookie Opt-In Configuration

  • Enabled: Visitors must opt-in for tracking cookies, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other privacy regulations.
  • Disabled: Visitors will appear anonymous in analytics until consent is granted.

Important:

  • Mutiny pre-renders personalized pages on unique URLs, making personalization GDPR-compliant without relying on real-time cookie acceptance.

Recommendation: Enable cookie opt-in if you're targeting audiences in regions with strict privacy laws (e.g., EU).

Best Practices for Configuring Campaign Settings

  1. Set Up Your Custom Domain Early
    • Ensure your DNS settings are configured correctly to avoid delays when launching campaigns.
  2. Use a Consistent Default Theme
    • Apply your brand guidelines to every campaign for consistency.
  3. Implement Key Tracking Scripts
    • Prioritize analytics tools and consent managers in the Head HTML for accurate tracking.
  4. Enable Cookie Opt-In for Compliance
    • Stay ahead of privacy regulations by enabling consent prompts where needed.
  5. Test Before Launch
    • Preview pages to ensure all settings (tracking, branding, privacy) are applied correctly.
