Themes Overview

Themes in Mutiny allow you to apply consistent branding and styling to personalized experiences without manual adjustments. By importing a theme, you ensure your personalized pages match your company’s design system, creating a seamless user experience across campaigns.

What Are Themes?

A theme in Mutiny is a collection of styles—including fonts, colors, and button designs—that define the visual identity of your personalized experiences. When you apply a theme, it automatically pulls in your brand’s styling to maintain consistency across landing pages and experiences.

Why Use Themes?

  • Consistency: Ensures all personalized pages align with your brand’s design.
  • Efficiency: Saves time by eliminating the need for manual styling adjustments.
  • Scalability: Supports rapid customization for multiple campaigns while maintaining brand integrity.

How to Create a Theme in Mutiny

Step 1: Import a Theme

  1. Navigate to the Styles section in Mutiny. You get here by clicking your name in the bottom-left of the app to open your settings options.
  2. In Campaign Themes, click Add a New Theme and enter a URL from your website. We recommend product and solution pages as they tend to pull the theme with the least amount of tweaking to be done from there.
  3. Mutiny will automatically extract styles, including fonts, colors, and button formats. This process only takes a few minutes.

Pro Tip: If your website uses a firewall, our AI theme generator might get a bit shy about scraping the page. No worries though – you can still build your theme manually with the same great results!

Step 2: Review and Adjust Theme Settings

After importing the theme, check for the following:

  • Header styles (H1-H4): Ensure text hierarchy is correct (H1 is the largest, followed by H2, H3, etc.).
  • Font rendering: Confirm that fonts are correctly pulled from your brand’s website.
  • Contrast and visibility: Check that text colors are easy to read, especially dark and light text variations.
  • CTA (Call-to-Action) buttons: Verify that the primary and secondary CTAs align with your brand’s color scheme. If necessary, adjust colors, padding, and border radius to match existing button styles.

Step 3: Save and Apply Your Theme

  1. Name your theme appropriately.
  2. Save your theme before exiting to retain the changes.
  3. Optional: In Campaign Settings, set your theme as the default to ensure it applies automatically to new pages you create in Mutiny. You get here by navigating to Settings tab which can be reached by clicking your name in the bottom left corner of the app.

Best Practices for Theme Optimization

  • Ensure visual consistency: Check that all styles match the intended brand guidelines.
  • Use live site references: If necessary, inspect elements from your main website to pull exact RGB values or hex codes for accurate styling.
  • Optimize CTA visibility: Adjust secondary CTAs to ensure they have clear borders and contrast well against the background.

By following these steps, you’ll create high-quality themes that enhance your Mutiny experiences while saving time and maintaining brand integrity.
