Connecting Mutiny to ChatGPT
Last updated: April 21, 2026
Mutiny integrates with ChatGPT through the 📄 Model Context Protocol (MCP). This guide covers setup for every supported ChatGPT client.
Mutiny will be listed in the ChatGPT Apps marketplace soon. Until then, use the custom app setup below.
Requires a ChatGPT Plus, Team, or Enterprise subscription. Free ChatGPT accounts cannot use custom apps
ChatGPT Web (chatgpt.com)
Go to chatgpt.com and sign in
Go to Settings → Apps
Click Add custom app
Enter Mutiny as the app name
Enter the server URL:
https://mcp.mutinyhq.com/mcpClick Add — a browser window will open to authorize with your Mutiny account
Approve the requested permissions
Once connected, ask ChatGPT to create assets, browse templates, or manage your content library directly in conversation.
If you don't see an option to add a custom app, you may have to enable developer mode from Advanced settings in the Apps settings page
ChatGPT Desktop (macOS & Windows)
Open the ChatGPT Desktop app
Go to Settings → Apps
Click Add custom app
Enter Mutiny as the app name
Enter the server URL:
https://mcp.mutinyhq.com/mcpComplete the OAuth authorization in the browser window that opens
Your apps sync between ChatGPT web and Desktop — if you've already connected on the web, Mutiny will be available in Desktop automatically.
Permissions
When you authorize, you grant specific scopes:
Scope | What it allows |
Read assets | view assets, templates, and blueprints |
Create assets | create assets and interact with the creative agent |
Publish assets | publish to production |
Read library content | browse your content library |
Manage library content | upload, update, and delete library items |
Revoking Access
Client | How to revoke |
ChatGPT web or Desktop | Settings → Apps → Mutiny → Disconnect |
From Mutiny | Account settings → Authorized Applications → Revoke |
Troubleshooting
I see a "Connection failed" error when adding the app
Make sure you're signed into Mutiny in a separate browser tab, then retry connecting.
I connected Mutiny but my tools aren't appearing in ChatGPT
Check that Mutiny shows as connected in your Apps list. Try disconnecting and reconnecting.
I get an "Insufficient permissions" error when using Mutiny tools
Contact your Mutiny workspace admin — they control which scopes your account can authorize.
